  • Activate The DSA Via The Deployment Script.
  • Activate The DSA Via the Event-based Task:

This will automatically activate the computers whenever they connect with the manager or in case DSM syncs with a cloud account, the LDAP directory, or the vCenter.

Different Statuses shown by DSA:

No Agent: Signifies either of the subsequent situations:       

  • You are available with no agent that can run on the default port.
  • You are having a running agent but it is functioning with other manager and not at all paying attention to this manner.

Activation Needed: The agent has been installed successfully and need activation by the manager.

Reactivation Needed: The agent has been installed successfully but waiting for the reactivation by the manager.

Deactivation Needed: The agent has been installed successfully but showing already activated status, may be by the other manager.

Unknown: The device has been introduced without any status information, or has been provided by the method of LDAP directory process.

The agent status will turn to online after successful activation. And in case of any failure, then it shows an Activation Failed status along with the reason defining the failure.

Deactivate the DSA

In case you want the current Deep Security Manager to handover the control of your computer to some other DSM, you have to deactivate the DSA with its present DSM followed by reactivating the same with the fresh manager.

There are two ways with which you can deactivate the DSA. Automatically, from the DSM that is controlling it till now. But if the DSM ignore to contact the agent, then you have go for the manual deactivation.

Note: In order to run the manual commands provided below, you ought to have the administrator rights.

Use below command to deactivate the DSA on Windows:

  • Alter the agent directory (Default is C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Deep Security Agent) from the command line.
  • Run the command: dsa_control -r

Use below command to deactivate the DSA on Linux:

Run the Command: /opt/ds_agent/dsa_control -r

In order to Start or Stop the DSA, do as follows:

Windows users:

Stop: Run the ‘sc stop ds_agent’ from a command line

Start: Run the ‘sc start ds_agent’ from a command line.

Linux users:

Stop: Run /etc/init.d/ds_agent stop

Start: Run /etc/init.d/ds_agent start
